Azure API Engineer - SME

Azure Front Door & API Management (APIM) SME

Job Summary

We are looking for experienced Azure Front Door and Azure API Management (APIM) SMEs to support the design, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise Azure application and API infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience securing and exposing web applications and APIs, managing traffic routing, and troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues across Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities / Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Front Door and Azure API Management (APIM).
• Configure and manage routing, load balancing, health probes, caching, custom domains, and SSL/TLS certificates.
• Design and implement APIM gateways, APIs, products, subscriptions, policies, and versioning.
• Implement API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, Microsoft Entra ID, certificates, and managed identities.
• Experience with WAF policies, security rules, rate limiting, throttling, IP restrictions, and API protection.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end application/API traffic across DNS → Front Door/WAF → APIM → backend services.
• Experience integrating Front Door/APIM with Azure App Service, Functions, AKS, private endpoints, VNets, and other Azure services.
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, DNS, monitoring/logging, security, performance optimization, and high availability.

Preferred: Experience with Azure Monitor/Application Insights, CI/CD or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep), and enterprise-scale Azure environments.
