This global defence, aerospace, and security company is seeking a skilled Fabricator – Plater to join their team, contributing to the delivery of advanced, technology-led solutions. As a key member of a dedicated team, you will play an integral part in pioneering progress and protecting what matters most, shaping a safer future.

The Role

• Interpret engineering drawings, mark off materials, and prepare plate using methods such as oxy-fuel cutting and hand grinding.
• Assemble ship structures, ensuring all components are accurately fitted, faired, and tack-welded.
• Fabricate various ship items, including seats, ladders, flooring, panels, and watertight doors.
• Form materials using machine tools such as rolling, flanging, and cutting equipment.
• Work in teams to produce high-quality steelwork for essential defence projects.

What You'll Need

• A Modern Apprenticeship certificate or Trade Papers, along with relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable up-to-date fabrication knowledge and hands-on experience in construction or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding and application of core manufacturing processes and tack welding standards.
• Confidence and responsibility in operating oxy-fuel and/or plasma cutting equipment.
• Experience working safely in confined spaces or at height, with relevant safety certifications.
• Adherence to SHE principles and risk-assessment requirements.
