About Arevon

Arevon is a U.S. energy leader committed to powering America with affordable, reliable, and secure homegrown energy. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and with a regional office in New York City, the company’s experienced and dedicated team develops, finances, builds, owns, and operates renewable energy projects nationwide. With a strong track record in utility-scale solar and energy storage, Arevon is a trusted partner to utilities and businesses seeking cost-effective, sustainable energy solutions. By prioritizing American manufacturing and domestic energy production, the company invests in U.S. jobs, strengthens local economies, and advances the country’s energy independence.

The Position

Arevon is recruiting for the position of Accounts Payable Director, an outstanding opportunity for an experienced accounts payable leader seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment across a complex, multi-entity renewable energy platform. Our company culture is one where teamwork, adaptability, continuous improvement, achievement of results, and willingness to grow are our core values.

The Accounts Payable Director is responsible for leading Arevon’s end-to-end accounts payable function across its corporate entities, project companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and other applicable reporting groups. The role oversees invoice processing, payment execution, vendor administration, purchase order compliance, employee and vendor inquiries, and related accounting activities while ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, properly authorized, and supported. This role establishes scalable processes and internal controls, drives automation and continuous improvement, manages service levels and performance metrics, and partners cross-functionally with all departments within Arevon. The Director will also lead and develop the accounts payable team and support audits, accounts payable close activities, and strategic initiatives across the organization to enhance consistency and efficiencies.

The ideal candidate brings deep accounts payable operations, team leadership, internal controls, process improvement, and ERP experience, with the ability to manage high transaction volumes, competing priorities, and complex entity and approval structures in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, the Accounts Payable Director will lead the accounts payable function across Arevon’s complex, multi-entity renewable energy platform.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the end-to-end accounts payable function across Arevon’s corporate entities, project companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and other applicable entities.
  • Oversee invoice intake, coding, approval, matching, exception resolution, payment processing, and vendor account maintenance to ensure accurate, timely, and properly authorized transactions.
  • Establish and monitor accounts payable policies, procedures, service levels, key performance indicators, and internal controls, including segregation of duties, approval authority, vendor master controls, duplicate payment prevention, and payment security.
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing accounts payable team by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and feedback, managing workloads, and building appropriate succession and cross-training plans.
  • Oversee weekly and special payment runs, coordinate funding requirements with Treasury, and maintain effective controls over ACH, wire, check, and other payment methods.
  • Partner with Procurement and business stakeholders to strengthen purchase order compliance, approval workflows, invoice quality, and timely resolution of exceptions and disputes.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure timely resolution of escalated inquiries, aging items, payment issues, and account reconciliations.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including accounts payable accruals, subledger-to-general-ledger reconciliations, cut-off procedures, aging analysis, and reporting.
  • Coordinate accounts payable support for internal and external audits, lender and tax equity requirements, compliance reviews, and other stakeholder requests.
  • Lead system optimization, automation, and process improvement initiatives involving ERP, invoice workflow, payment platforms, vendor onboarding, reporting, and data analytics.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, fraud, and compliance risks while scaling accounts payable processes to support company growth and evolving business needs.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive accounts payable, procure-to-pay, shared services, or related accounting experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-volume accounts payable function in a complex, multi-entity environment; renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, real estate, or project finance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable operations, procure-to-pay processes, vendor master administration, payment controls, accruals, account reconciliations, and month-end close requirements.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain effective internal controls, approval workflows, policies, procedures, service levels, and performance metrics.
  • Experience leading system implementations, automation initiatives, or process transformation efforts; strong working knowledge of NetSuite or a similar ERP system preferred.
  • Strong people leadership and change management skills, with a demonstrated ability to coach teams, manage performance, and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of partnering effectively with all departments within an organization, specifically the Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Procurement, Project Management, Asset and Management teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred but not required.
