Job Description
This position is a full time Traveling Installation Technician with various sites around the United States. This position requires US citizenship or equivalent to access Military installations on a daily basis.
The Low-Slope Roofing Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing flat and low-slope commercial roofing systems. This role requires technical expertise in handling advanced single-ply membranes, built-up systems, and specialized torch-down applications. The ideal candidate must work safely at heights, operate specialized roofing equipment, and ensure all installations are completely watertight to withstand severe weather elements.
Requirements
- System Installation: Install single-ply membranes (TPO, PVC, EPDM), modified bitumen (Mod-Bit), and built-up roofing (BUR) systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Seam & Detail Welding: Operate automatic and hand-held hot-air welders to securely fuse TPO/PVC seams; apply bonding adhesives and primers for EPDM and self-adhered systems.
- Substrate Preparation: Perform roof tear-offs, remove old materials, inspect the underlying decking for damage, and install vapor retarders, coverboards, and tapered insulation systems for proper drainage.
- Flashing & Penetrations: Flash roof penetrations, including pipes, vents, curbs, skylights, and gravel stops, to ensure complete water tightness at critical transition points.
- Maintenance & Leak Repair: Inspect existing low-slope roofs, locate hard-to-find leaks, patch punctures, and execute preventative maintenance protocols.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA guidelines, including the proper setup and usage of personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), perimeter warning lines, and safety monitors.
- US Citizen or Green card holder with Security Clearance
- Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 certification is highly preferred; manufacturer-specific training is a plus.
