Job Description
OVERALL JOB OBJECTIVE(S)
- Monitor branch’s liquidity, funding and ALM risks
- Monitor branch’s market risks
- Assist Head of FRM in monitoring credit risk
- To maintain departmental policies, procedures and framework under the oversight of the Head of FRM
- Perform financial risk controls and produce financial risk reports for internal and group reporting
- Provide back up support for the other Financial Risk Analyst
- Provide support to FRM team on key tasks and to the other teams (e.g. policies, procedures, templates, systems and controls, etc.)
- Take ownership of ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all reports produced
- Monitor the Branch’s liquidity, funding and ALM KRIs against internal thresholds
- Monitor the Branch’s market risks KRIs against internal thresholds
- Provide support to the team to monitor branch’s credit risks
- Maintain and update Branch’s Liquidity Risk and Market Risk Frameworks, and assist in updating the Credit Risk Framework, under the oversight of the Head of FRM.
- Support the maintenance of Financial Risk Management policies and procedures
- Act as Secretary or Back-up Secretary for local ALCO and Market Risks Committee
- Provide back-up for and support to other Financial Risk Management Unit staff and also assist in training intern/s, as and when required.
- Provide SME support to the Internal Control team in carrying out financial risk management related second level controls and also in supervising first level controls
- Liaise with Internal Control team to implement and enhance existing controls to ensure accuracy of data, systems and reports.
- Produce and analyse branch’s Liquidity, funding and ALM indicators/reports and related tasks
- Produce and analyse the branch’s market risk indicators/reports and related tasks
- Collaborate with the other Financial Risk Analyst in the production and assessment of ALCO Pack, Market Risk Pack, relevant section of RCCD pack and EXCO pack.
- Assist in preparing various financial risk reports/tasks as required
- Support the Head of FRM in developing and establishing new reporting requirements as the risk landscape evolves, and carry out additional tasks/reports as they arise
- Review Group ALCO and Group Market Risks related reports and analyse impacts on the Branch
- Participate in CGPU exercise, if and when required and present the stress test results in the meeting.
- Improve SOPs, reporting processes, and develop data quality checks in all the key reporting
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate and enhance financial risk reporting using tools such as Excel, VBA etc, as well as BI visualisation tool such as Qlik Sense.
- Contribute to Group ALM’s risk model development and maintenance
- Contribute to key financial risk related business development projects
- Contribute to (or co-lead, where applicable) key Credit, Market and Treasury systems related projects
- Assist the FRM team with AI-related project.
- Assist in automating financial risk reporting, including the use of tools like Qlik Sense or other reporting platforms, to streamline processes and strengthen controls.
- Assist in any other risk, compliance and internal controls projects and remediation process
- Adhere to the Group’s compliance related policies and procedures such as anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AMLCFT), conduct rules, conflict of interest, data protection, gifts and entertainment, market abuse, personal account dealing, safety and security, tax evasion, whistleblowing, etc.
- Partake in strengthening the branch’s risk and compliance culture (i.e. write and implement policies, design trainings, update Questions & Answers, etc.) in collaboration with the Senior Management and business units
- Relevant University Degree
- Previous experience in financial risk management and/or control environment
- Knowledge of the French/EEA and UK regulatory framework
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required) and French (desirable)
- Strong analytical skills, a problem-solving attitude, self-driven and the ability to think outside the box.
- Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage a variety of duties simultaneously, to prioritise and work under pressure
- Ability to assess compliance with laws, regulations and internal standards
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access) advanced or proficient user
