DSV Solutionsis seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Dangerous Goods Officerin AUS - Len Waters Estate, Aviation Road
The position is responsible for Dangerous Goods Compliance including the safe handling, storage, and transport of high-capacity lithium-ion batteries ensuring full compliance and adhering to all safety regulations
Your typical day at DSV:- Ensure that DSV's handling of dangerous goods complies with all international, regional, and country-specific regulations, as well as the DSV Group Dangerous Goods framework. Adjust local processes accordingly and monitor compliance
- Ensure all staff receive required training under applicable legislation and the DSV Group framework
- Ensure that Group and local dangerous goods objectives and milestones are met, and that all required reporting- such as incidents and training is completed accurately and on time
- Actively participate in activities and meetings initiated by Group Dangerous Goods, supporting the alignment of dangerous goods methods and routines within DSV
- Collaborate with the Leadership team to design and implement key DG & HSE initiatives
- Provide expert guidance during audit preparation, incident investigations, and training
- Coach and support operational managers in DG safety planning and reporting
- Monitor risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, inspections, and surveys
- Lead significant risk assessments and serious Incident Investigations, and tracking corrective action reports
- Provide detailed analysis of Incident performance and trends, and assist in developing strategies to reduce incidents
- Support ISO audits, maintaining ISO 18001 and ISO 14001 certification
- Provide additional support to the HSE team as required
- Minimum 5 years HSE background
- Strong dangerous goods regulatory knowledge and experience across all applicable transport modes and storage
- Professional qualification for transport of dangerious goods (e.g. certified safety adviser for dangerous goods or similar role)
- Strong underdstanding of DG classisification, packaging, labelling, documentation, and regulatory obligations
- Proven ability to conduct compliance audits, inspections, or operational checks within a logistics, freight forwarding, or transport environment
- Ability to travel interstate as required
