FinXL is seeking an experienced Intermediate Software Developer to join our Business Transformation consulting practice. In this engagement (offered as a Contract engagement), you will become a key member of our team and be deployed with a Government department on a high-profile modernisation project. This position can be based from either of the following cities: Brisbane (Hybrid - 2-3 days on-site).

Responsibility

• Migrate and rewrite legacy scientific modelling software into a modern, maintainable programming language.

• Understand and translate complex scientific modelling algorithms.

• Apply a solid foundation in modern software development methodologies to all project deliverables.

• Conduct and implement comprehensive automated testing.

• Collaborate actively within a vibrant, dynamic, and growing team environment.

Key Skills & Experience

• 3 to 6 years of commercial software development experience.

• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C++ or C#.

• Readiness to adapt once the final technology stack is locked in.

• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.

• Grasp of university-level basic mathematics and statistics.

• Hands-on experience in automated testing.

• High energy, enthusiasm, and a highly collaborative attitude.
