IT Engineer

Description
We are looking for an IT Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure across San Antonio, Texas. This role focuses on maintaining reliable systems, strengthening identity and network services, and contributing technical expertise to infrastructure and security initiatives. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across Microsoft platforms, cloud services, virtualization, backup technologies, and enterprise networking environments.

Responsibilities

Oversee the health, upkeep, and rollout of core infrastructure components, including servers, network hardware, and related enterprise systems. Manage Microsoft identity and access platforms by administering, deploying, and resolving issues across Active Directory, Entra ID, and associated services. Implement and support infrastructure solutions across cloud, on-premises, and endpoint environments while ensuring stable day-to-day operations. Partner with security team members to complete infrastructure-related security work and help maintain a resilient technical environment.

Collaborate with internal and external solution delivery teams when advanced infrastructure expertise is needed for project execution. Advise infrastructure leadership on emerging tools, operational improvements, and technical opportunities that can benefit the business. Coordinate with IT business stakeholders to clarify expectations and communicate changes that may affect users or operations. Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex incidents and technical problems that require advanced troubleshooting beyond the service desk.

Support network and operational technology environments, including work involving enterprise switching, wireless platforms, firewalls, and industrial systems where applicable. Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure administration, or a similar IT role. Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration. Experience with Microsoft Azure services, Azure networking, Entra ID, and device management tools such as Intune or Apple Business Manager.

Hands-on background with enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco or Aruba platforms and firewall solutions such as Palo Alto or Fortinet. Proficiency in PowerShell for administration, automation, and troubleshooting tasks. Familiarity with virtualization and data protection technologies, including VMware vSphere or Hyper-V, along with Veeam or comparable backup tools. Exposure to messaging, productivity, and infrastructure platforms such as Microsoft Exchange, Office technologies, and related enterprise services.

Experience supporting operational technology or industrial environments, including platforms such as Siemens or Rockwell, is a plus. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.
