Role: Power BI Developer With Power Apps

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)

Type: W2

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Power BI & Power Apps Developer to design and deliver interactive analytics solutions, write-back capability applications, and automated workflows for a key enterprise client.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between business data and operational action by integrating Power BI, Canvas/Model-Driven Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse/Azure SQL into unified business applications. You will work closely with client leadership, enterprise architecture, and cross-functional technology teams to ensure high performance, seamless data governance, and exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Analytics (Power BI):

Design, build, and deploy production Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and analytics models tailored to business KPIs.
Write optimized, complex DAX expressions (calculated columns, custom measures, time intelligence) and Power Query (M Language) data transformations.
Build Star Schema and Snowflake data models connecting to heterogenous data sources (Azure SQL, Dataverse, REST APIs, SharePoint).

Application & Workflow Development (Power Apps & Automate):

Design and develop Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps to automate business processes and enable write-back functionality.
Embed custom Power Apps directly within Power BI reports for interactive reporting and operational data entry.
Build automated flows in Power Automate for real-time notifications, data ingestion triggers, and approval chains.

Governance, Security & Performance:

Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), workspace permissions, and deployment pipelines.
Optimize query execution speeds, report rendering time, and refresh schedules using DAX Studio, Performance Analyzer, and SQL tuning.
Manage data refresh mechanisms through On-Premises Data Gateways and cloud connectors.

Stakeholder Management & Agile Execution:

Work directly with client product owners and business analysts to gather, refine, and translate functional requirements into technical design documents.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Demos) using Jira or Azure DevOps.
