Job Description

Ambrosia Energy is on a mission to make solar + battery systems the fastest-to-deploy and most cost-effective energy source in the US and beyond. As global energy demand surges—driven by the rapid rise of data centers, electric vehicles, and future in-home robotics—the world stands at a critical energy inflection point. To meet this challenge, we need innovative, scalable power sources. Our engineering-led team, with expertise in designing and deploying satellite constellations (Swarm, Starlink Mobile), is now focused on energy on Earth. We're developing affordable, clean energy solutions with new battery storage systems. United by strong team camaraderie, we prioritize speed, rapid iteration, vertical integration, and a test-like-you-fly approach. We're committed to making an impact on the future of energy.

We are designing and developing a distributed battery storage system to pair with solar panels that are quick and easy to install. The system is simple, robust, reliable, and easy to manufacture at scale. The system will include highly efficient DC-DC conversion, solar MPPT, power distribution, no moving parts, and efficient cable management to make everything plug and play in the field.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate

  • 2+ years of welding experience with TIG, MIG, stick, or Gas-shielded Flux-Cored Arc welding (FCAW-G)

    • Experience gained through a vocational welding program counts toward this requirement

  • Knowledge of standard tools, materials, welding techniques, effective safety precautions, and practices of the welding trade

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of welding experience

  • 2+ years of blueprint reading experience directly related to structural weldments

  • Ability to read welding symbols per AWS 2.4

  • Experience as a combo welder with the ability to fit and weld carbon structure using FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, or GMAW processes

  • Experience in overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging

  • Experience with metal finishing, grinding, and precision inspection tools

  • Hands-on operating experience with abrasive waterjet cutting systems (nesting, material handling, troubleshooting cut quality)

  • Proficiency in setting up and running manual milling machines and engine lathes for secondary machining operations

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings, and climbing hand-over-hand

    • Stand, walk, sit, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead up to 10 hours per day

    • Climb ladders/stairs and twist upper body up to 6 hours per day

    • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs without assistance for up to 1–2 hours per day

    • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees for 6+ hours per day

  • Candidate must be capable to safely work at heights (up to 20ft) in confined spaces, operate heavy equipment and machinery, and preform the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description
