Job Description

Modeling and Simulation Systems Architect | Colorado Springs, CO | Hybrid | $86,800.00 - $198,000.00

This employer is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Systems Architect with deep expertise to support strategic decision-making for defense missions. The role involves shaping credible and interoperable modeling and simulation capabilities that directly inform a range of critical stakeholders.

The Role

  • Bring advanced MBSE, SysML, UML, digital engineering, architecture, and requirements expertise to thought leaders in engineering, space operations, data, and analysis.
  • Formally model strategic processes and behaviors, design coherent digital system architectures, and define necessary interfaces.
  • Ensure systems accurately represent mission threads, cross-domain effects, and strategic-level decision workflows for key government entities.
  • Integrate simulations into Joint Staff environments and other operational or M&S systems, becoming the single source of truth for developers and stakeholders.
  • Translate complex mission challenges into clear, actionable architectural models.
  • Communicate effectively with developers, government leads, and technical stakeholders.

What You'll Need

  • Experience applying MBSE to develop authoritative digital system models (architecture, requirements, behaviors, interactions).
  • Proficiency in SysML and UML for modeling system structure, behavior, mission workflows, and strategic processes.
  • Experience with UAF or DoD digital engineering frameworks for system-of-systems architectures in space or joint operations.
  • Proven experience in requirements management, including capture, analysis, validation, and traceability within digital models.
  • Experience designing digital interfaces and integrating complex systems into joint M&S environments (e.g., JLVC federation interoperability).
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or systems engineering and a TS/SCI clearance.

What's On Offer

  • A challenging role shaping critical defense modeling and simulation capabilities.
  • The opportunity to work with diverse technical teams and senior government leaders.
  • Access to a comprehensive benefits package including health, financial, and retirement benefits, plus paid leave and professional development.
  • Eligibility for tuition assistance and work-life programs.
