This senior, hands-on Software Architect role focuses on building and stabilizing cloud integration services on the Microsoft stack. You will design integration patterns, write and ship production C#/.NET code, and improve reliability of event-driven and API-based workflows on Azure. Success is measured by integration pipelines that are resilient, observable, and easier to operate, with clear architecture decisions that teams can execute.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement enterprise integration architectures using REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven patterns.
  • Build and maintain production services in C#/.NET/.NET Core, including core integration components and shared libraries.
  • Develop and operate Azure-based integration solutions using Azure Functions, Service Bus, and API Management to support secure, scalable connectivity.
  • Diagnose and resolve failures in production integration pipelines, driving issues from detection through root-cause analysis and permanent corrective action.
  • Define reliability patterns such as idempotency, retries, dead-letter handling, message validation, and back-pressure to reduce incidents and data inconsistencies.
  • Establish observability standards across integrations, including structured logging, correlation IDs, metrics, alerts, and actionable telemetry dashboards.
  • Review and guide technical designs and code changes to ensure performance, maintainability, and alignment with integration architecture standards.
  • Partner with engineering stakeholders to plan and deliver integration enhancements, balancing near-term stabilization with longer-term modernization.

Required Skills:

  • 8 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with significant recent production development in C#/.NET/.NET Core, including writing and supporting production code.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Azure integrations using Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Azure API Management.
  • Strong background in enterprise integration architecture across REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SQL and data transformation concepts to support integration mapping, validation, and reconciliation workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including build/release automation and environment promotion for integration services.
  • Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to speed up development, debugging, test generation, or operational automation.
  • Demonstrated track record stabilizing failing or unstable production integration pipelines through systematic troubleshooting and remediation.
  • Deep operability expertise, including idempotency, retries, validation, failure handling, observability, logging/telemetry, and root-cause analysis practices.
