FIRMWARE ENGINEER

Role: Firmware Developer – C++, Python & PCIe
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Fully Onsite)

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Firmware Developer with strong hands-on expertise in C++, Python, and PCIe technologies. The ideal candidate will develop, debug, validate, and optimize low-level firmware for complex hardware systems, working closely with hardware, validation, and systems engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware using modern C/C++ for embedded and hardware platforms.
• Develop Python-based automation, validation, and diagnostic tools for firmware and hardware testing.
• Work extensively with PCIe protocols, interfaces, enumeration, configuration, and debugging.
• Develop and debug low-level firmware interacting with hardware components and peripherals.
• Perform firmware bring-up, integration, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze hardware/firmware issues using JTAG, debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
• Develop test frameworks and automated validation scripts using Python.
• Collaborate with hardware, ASIC, validation, and system engineers during product development.
• Troubleshoot issues related to PCIe connectivity, performance, enumeration, interrupts, and device configuration.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and firmware architecture discussions.
• Support system-level integration, firmware releases, and production readiness.
• Document technical specifications, test results, defects, and debugging findings.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with C/C++ firmware development.
• Strong Python programming and scripting experience.
• Solid understanding of PCIe architecture and protocol.
• Experience with firmware development for embedded or hardware-centric systems.
