Job Description

Requisition ID16882-Posted20/08/2026-Shred-X-Production-SRX WA Branch-Canning Vale-Permanent Full Time-Manufacturing and warehousing-Australia-Western Australia

At Shred-X, we're committed to protecting the future of our customers, our people, and the environment. We're looking for an ITAD Technician to join our operational team and play a hands on role in the secure processing, refurbishment, recycling, and resale of IT assets.

This is a practical, varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and getting stuck into warehouse operations. You'll work across IT asset disposition (ITAD), e waste processing, refurbishment, data destruction, inventory management, ecommerce, and recycling.

If you're technically minded, safety focused, reliable, and passionate about giving technology a second life while responsibly managing e waste, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

Working as part of our e waste and ITAD operations team, you'll help ensure assets are processed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in line with customer, environmental, and compliance requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Receive, weigh, label, record, and process incoming IT and e waste assets using ERP and inventory systems.
  • Test, diagnose, refurbish, and configure PCs, laptops, mobile devices, servers, and networking equipment.
  • Install, manage, and troubleshoot Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Perform secure data erasure, degaussing, and physical destruction of HDDs and SSDs.
  • Audit, test, harvest, and recover reusable IT components for resale or wholesale.
  • Prepare quality, retail-ready equipment and create listings for ecommerce sales.
  • Pick, pack, and dispatch ecommerce and wholesale orders.
  • Respond to customer enquiries relating to online sales and products.
  • Sort, dismantle, and separate e waste into appropriate recycling and commodity streams.
  • Safely prepare batteries and other hazardous materials for downstream recycling.
  • Palletise, strap, wrap, weigh, and load outbound shipments.
  • Operate shredders, balers, pallet jacks, trolleys, forklifts, and other equipment where trained and licensed.
  • Maintain accurate asset tracking and inventory records.
  • Meet operational throughput targets and branch KPIs.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Support warehouse, operational, and field service activities as required.
  • Identify operational issues and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, training, meetings, and safety initiatives.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines technical capability with a strong work ethic and a practical, hands on approach.

Ideally, you'll have:
  • Previous experience in IT, e waste, ITAD, warehousing, logistics, electronics, or a similar operational environment.
  • An understanding of IT asset processing, testing, data erasure, refurbishment, sorting, or dismantling.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow processes.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and meet productivity targets.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to workplace health, safety, environmental responsibility, and compliance.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a positive and supportive team member.
  • A professional, reliable, and customer focused attitude.

A forklift licence or relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.

Why Join Shred-X?

At Shred-X, you'll be part of a team that does more than simply process old technology. You'll help businesses securely manage their IT assets, recover value from technology, and divert e waste from landfill.

You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Work hands on with a wide range of IT hardware and technology.
  • Develop your skills across ITAD, refurbishment, data destruction, ecommerce, and e waste recycling.
  • Be part of a team that genuinely values safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to a circular economy by helping recover, reuse, and recycle technology.
  • Work in a varied role where no two days are exactly the same.
  • Grow your skills and career within a supportive operational environment.

We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer - diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are valued here.
