Responsibilities Noblis is seeking an experienced and dynamic Data Analyst and Visualization Consultant professionalto join our Data Analytics & Visualization Team in Springfield, VA. The specialist will be responsible for transforming complex, messy data into clear insights that support key decisions in enrollment, scheduling, and student success. We are looking for a creative thinker who is detail-oriented, project focused, and has the proven expertise to clean, analyze, and visualize data that drives meaningful outcomes for stakeholders.
This position is ideal for the individual who is energized by data-driven problem solving and seeking a career in analytics, data governance, and business intelligence. The ideal candidate will have diverse experience across data analytics disciplines and can easily adapt to different client expectations and requirements. Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute ad hoc queries to support quick-turnaround analytics requests, performing data discovery, schema analysis, and multi-table joins for dashboard development.
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau and SQL to communicate findings and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Conduct data profiling and anomaly detection to identify data quality issues and generate recommendations for data governance initiatives.
- Document data definitions, locations, and relationships for the data catalog, supporting data governance and business analysis efforts.
- Apply statistical methods, data mining techniques, and machine learning algorithms to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights from diverse data sources.
- Develop slide decks and presentations to communicate data governance guidance and analytical findings to clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Work independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data analytics into business processes and applications. Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret clearance required with ability to obtain and maintain SCI with CI polygraph.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 1+ years of experience OR Ph. D. with 0+ years of experience OR Associate's degree with 6+ years of experience OR High school diploma/GED with 9+ years of experience.
- Developing programmatic solutions to aggregate data with tools like SQL, Python and Syntasa.
- Building, updating, and maintaining Tableau dashboards.
- Validating data and dashboards for accuracy and consistency.
- Managing access requests and ensure data security compliance.
- Documenting your work clearly and keep JIRA tasks up to date.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather project requirements.
- Proposing and implementing workflow efficiencies (e.g., programming shortcuts, automation).
- Contributing to data dictionaries and shared documentation.
- Providing technical mentorship to teammates.
- Developing data governance recommendations and guidance. Travel up to 10% within US Lift up to 30 lbs, walk, bend, drive Desired Qualifications
- Degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science or related field.
- Proficiency in Excel and other visualization tools.
- Experience cleaning and documenting data sets.
- Strong attention to detail and able to recognize repetitive tasks that could be automated.
- Team player with clear communication skills.
- Critical thinker who takes initiative and "fails forward."
- Portfolio or examples of dashboards/analysis work.
- Familiarity with programming (R) for automation, GitHub, and higher-ed data.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked.
While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package. Posted Salary Range USD $82,500.00 - USD $128,925.00 /Yr.
