About the opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer/Buyer to take ownership of purchasing and supply chain activities within an established manufacturing business.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director and working closely with the Managing Director, this is a standalone role offering a high level of autonomy and responsibility. The position would suit an experienced procurement professional looking for a stable, long-term opportunity where they can make a genuine impact.
The Role:
You’ll take ownership of the purchasing and supply chain function, ensuring the business is equipped with the right suppliers, at the right cost, delivering the right quality.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll play a key role in aligning supply with demand, improving performance, and supporting long-term business growth.
In particular, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day procurement and supply chain activities
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing, supply agreements and service levels
- Monitor stock levels and demand forecasts
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain
- Analyse purchasing data and supplier performance
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
Who we are looking for:
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management (manufacturing / FMCG preferred)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management capability
- Commercial mindset with a focus on cost and value
- Data-driven and comfortable working with analytics and forecasting
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Proactive, hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment
