Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer to join our team for a 6-month contract engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AWS, cloud/platform engineering, and full-stack application development using Java or JavaScript.

This role will involve developing and supporting backend and UI applications, automating deployments, assisting with migrations, responding to production incidents, addressing security vulnerabilities, and modernizing legacy systems. The successful candidate will also be comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and creating technical documentation.

Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using Java or JavaScript.
  • Build and support backend services, user interfaces, and APIs.
  • Develop and maintain Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
  • Work with AWS cloud services and platform engineering environments.
  • Automate deployment processes and provide release and deployment support.
  • Support application and infrastructure migrations.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and participate in incident response and operational support.
  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, including patching and security updates.
  • Contribute to legacy application modernization initiatives.
  • Support server maintenance and application reliability.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to resolve technical issues and deliver reliable solutions.
  • Provide strong customer service and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud/platform engineering.
  • Proficiency in Java or JavaScript, including backend and UI development.
  • Experience with application testing and Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Experience with automation, deployment support, and migrations.
  • Experience with production troubleshooting, incident response, and operational support.
  • Knowledge of security vulnerabilities, patching, and legacy modernization.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools and documentation practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work remotely while supporting Arizona business hours.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EKS / Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Kafka / MSK and AWS Glue Schema Registry.
  • Experience building or supporting developer portals or internal self-service tools.
  • Experience with server maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Experience with DMS, Documentum, or similar legacy systems.
