Position Summary

4Consulting, Inc is seeking a qualified Database Administrators to support technology consulting, application development, systems analysis, testing, data management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or project delivery services for client projects. The selected candidate will perform duties consistent with the client’s project requirements and company delivery standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for:

1. Administer, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database environments to ensure performance, availability, and reliability.
2. Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot database performance, implement backup and recovery strategies, and maintain database security.
3. Design and support database schemas, automation scripts, and database maintenance processes to improve operational efficiency.
4. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support database deployments, upgrades, and production operations.

 

Minimum Qualifications

The position requires:

Education	Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience	10+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration, performance tuning, database design, and enterprise production support.
Technical Skills	Database Administration, SQL, Database Performance Tuning, Backup & Recovery, Database Security, Data Modeling, Scripting, Cloud Databases
Business / Domain Skills	Production Support, Capacity Planning, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Solving, Cross-functional Collaboration
Communication	Ability to communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
Documentation	Ability to prepare project documentation, status updates, and deliverables.
Work Authorization	Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship may be considered where permitted by company policy and project requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience managing large-scale enterprise PostgreSQL database environments.
2. Knowledge of cloud database platforms, automation tools, and DevOps practices.
3. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
