Job Description :
Lead Data Modeler
Primary Skill
Lead enterprise data modeling activities across multiple business domains including Customer/Assured, Broker, Policy, Claims, Finance, Financials, GWP, Reinsurance, Submission, and HR.
Conduct business workshops with business stakeholders, SMEs, and application owners to understand business processes, data requirements, and reporting needs.
Assess existing SSIS EDW data models and identify opportunities for reuse, rationalization, and modernization.
Perform fit-gap analysis between current-state and target-state enterprise data models.
Define and develop conceptual, logical, and high-level physical data models aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
Identify enterprise business entities, attributes, business keys, relationships, hierarchies, reference data, and conformed dimensions.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to define canonical data models and ensure consistency across business domains.
Review and validate source-to-target mappings, business rules, and transformation logic to ensure alignment with enterprise data models.
Lead cross-domain data model integration and resolve data modeling conflicts across domains.
Develop and maintain enterprise data dictionaries, business glossaries, metadata, and modeling standards.
Review and approve data models developed by offshore data modelers and provide technical guidance and mentoring.
Facilitate design review sessions, architecture walkthroughs, and business validation workshops to obtain stakeholder approval.
Support Gold layer mapping and define semantic layer data structures, business entities, KPIs, hierarchies, and business definitions.
Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards, naming conventions, metadata standards, and modeling best practices.
Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Data Governance teams, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Mandatory Skills
Enterprise Data Modeling, Conceptual/Logical/Physical Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema/Snowflake), ERwin/ER Studio (or equivalent), SQL, Data Architecture principles, Business Data Analysis, Data Dictionary & Metadata Management, Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
Preferred Skills
AWS Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Data Vault, Informatica, SSIS, Insurance (Property & Casualty) domain experience, Data Governance Frameworks, Azure DevOps/Jira.
