Job Description

Employment Associate. International Firm. 12 Month FTC. 3+ PQE

We are working with notable international law firm that is looking for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join its highly regarded Employment team in London on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role is to cover a period of maternity leave, starting ASAP. The firm operates a hybrid working pattern with 3 days per week in the office.

The successful lawyer will join a busy team and can expect exposure to a varied employment law caseload, spanning a full range of contentious, advisory and transactional matters. There is currently a healthy pipeline of Employment Tribunal work and broader advisory matters, alongside an increase in employment support arising from corporate transactions.

Working across the team’s Partners, the successful individual will have the opportunity to advise on a broad range of employment matters and become well integrated into the practice throughout the duration of the contract.

Applicants are likely to possess upwards of 3 years’ PQE advising on UK employment law, with experience gained from other notable law firms in the UK. The Partners are looking for the successful individual to be a well-rounded Employment Lawyer who is comfortable handling a mixture of contentious and non-contentious matters alongside corporate support.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Upwards of 3 years’ experience in handling a full range of Employment Law matters
  • Strong and relevant experience gained within notable law firms in the UK
  • The ability to work effectively with multiple Partners and members of a busy Employment team
  • The willingness and ability to commit to a 12-month fixed term contract
  • The capacity to start a new role immediately or at short notice

This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Lawyer looking to join a well-established practice and gain exposure to a broad and active Employment Law caseload. While the position is a 12-month FTC, there is potential for future extension and/or permanency, although this cannot be guaranteed at the outset.
