Liferay Systems Administrator - REMOTE - 1 YEAR CONTRACT

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Liferay Systems Administrator to support a migrate of the Liferay legacy customer portal to our customers new Commerce Cloud and Customer Portal.

Background/Overview

The focus of this migration is to move all critical business functionality from the Liferay platform which is being decommissioned and move it to Commerce Cloud. This effort will focus on moving several home-grown developed applications currently on Liferay to a Commerce Cloud storefront.The liferay administrator will focus on supporting the existing liferay portals, working support tickets, and providing general admin functions while other technical teams are focused on the details of the migration.

Key Responsbilities:

The 1 Liferay Administrator will:

- Support the Portal migration by providing day-to-day support to the existing Liferay Portal businesses and users.

- Administer and maintain Liferay Portal environments including, upgrades, patches, and migrations.

- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical issues, bugs, and incidents properly.

- Manage and update Jira tickets.

- Maintain system documentation and provide technical support to developers and support teams

- Deliver current state documentation based on existing hRC portals.

- Conduct, document and deliver utilization assessments to support as needed.

- This person will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, planning, developing, testing, documenting, and implementing processes for this project. Coordination and collaboration across functional teams and business partners.

- Ability to travel up to 15% to US based locations for major deployments and planning meetings.

Experience Needed:

- 7+ years of enterprise system administration experience, with at least 4+ years dedicated exclusively to Liferay DXP production environments.

- Advanced JVM Expertise: Deep, expert-level understanding of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) internals, thread dump analysis, and heap dump diagnostics.

- Cloud & Containerization: Proven track record of running Liferay workloads in cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and managing container orchestration via Kubernetes.

- Preferred Certification: Liferay Certified Professional System Administrator (or equivalent DXP certification) is highly preferred.
