Blue Yonder (BY) Transportation Management System (TMS) Techno-Functional Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Blue Yonder (BY) Transportation Management System (TMS) Techno-Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Blue Yonder TMS and SAP integration. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of transportation and logistics processes, including shipment creation, load planning, freight rates, carrier management, invoicing, vouchers, and accruals.

The consultant will be responsible for independently troubleshooting production issues, supporting system integrations, maintaining mapping specifications, and identifying process improvements. Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Because many issues escalate during afternoon hours, candidates who can work onshore during regular U.S. business hours are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide functional and technical support for the Blue Yonder TMS module.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the end-to-end Order-to-Invoice process.

• Support shipment creation, shipment optimization, and transportation load planning.

• Maintain and troubleshoot transportation configurations, including rates, tariffs, lanes, services, charges, equipment, locations, and reference numbers.

• Understand voucher and accrual processes, including creation, matching, and reconciliation with profit centers and General Ledger (GL) accounts.

• Troubleshoot transportation events and understand how they are generated, processed, and executed.

• Analyze and resolve document and transaction flow issues between SAP, Blue Yonder, and external carriers.

• Develop, maintain, and update interface mapping specifications.

• Collaborate with carriers, logistics partners, and internal technical and functional teams to resolve issues independently.

• Understand Blue Yonder job structures and configure or add new jobs as required.

• Perform root-cause analysis, recommend solutions, and implement process improvements.

• Use basic SQL to write queries and support simple Cognos reports and jobs.

• Apply working knowledge of SAP IDocs, transactions, and tables to investigate integration issues.

• Support and troubleshoot Blue Yonder APIs and related integrations.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, with strong hands-on Blue Yonder TMS expertise.

• Strong techno-functional knowledge of Blue Yonder TMS and transportation management processes.

• Experience with SAP integration and the end-to-end Order-to-Invoice lifecycle.

• Understanding of freight rating, shipment planning, load optimization, carrier integrations, vouchers, and accruals.

• Experience troubleshooting interfaces and transaction flows between SAP, Blue Yonder, and external carriers.

• Knowledge of mapping specifications, integration troubleshooting, and Blue Yonder job structures.

• Basic SQL skills and familiarity with Cognos reporting.

• Basic understanding of SAP IDocs, transactions, and tables.

• Knowledge of Blue Yonder APIs.

• Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage escalated production issues.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Onshore candidate available to work in regular U.S. business hours.

• Experience supporting enterprise transportation and logistics operations.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with business users, carriers, logistics partners, and technical teams.

• Strong ownership of production incidents, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
