Sr. Application Developer/Engineer/Programmer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based microservices and cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK
• Design and support business workflows with AWS Step Functions
• Build containerized applications with RESTful APIs
• Implement logging, monitoring, and audit trails using tools such as CloudWatch and CloudTrail
• Participate in code reviews with a focus on maintainability, performance, and best practices
• Write and improve unit and integration tests, and support code remediation efforts
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical documentation
• Partner with stakeholders to turn business needs into effective technical solutions

Skills

• 7+ years of software development experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Strong production experience with Python and modern development frameworks
• Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, and error handling
• Proficiency with Git workflows, branching strategies, and merge request reviews
• Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Terraform in addition to AWS CDK
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular or React with TypeScript
• Exposure to AWS services like SNS/SQS, Athena, Glue, and load balancers
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools for code review, documentation, debugging, and test development
• Ability to evaluate and refine AI-generated code thoughtfully
• Background in building solutions for regulated or highly secure environments
