Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

 

•             8+ years in cloud/platform/data engineering, including 4+ years hands-on with Google Cloud Platform.

•             Strong Linux, containers, and Kubernetes fundamentals; GKE experience preferred.

•             Expertise in IAM, networking, security best practices, and secrets management on Google Cloud Platform.

•             Proficiency in Terraform, CI/CD, Python or Go, and SQL; solid schema/design and performance tuning skills.

Proven ownership of production systems, on-call, and resilience improvements

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Sr Google Cloud Platform Cloud Architect (8+ years)

Summary

•             Lead architecture, implementation, and operations of secure, reliable, and cost-efficient solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

•             Strong candidate with Hands on experience in Google Cloud Platform, Terraform and scripting and automation 

Responsibilities

•             Architect and deliver Google Cloud Platform workloads using Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL/Spanner, Pub/Sub.

•             Build infrastructure as code and CI/CD (Terraform, Cloud Build, Git) with environment promotion and guardrails.

•             Implement identity and security controls (IAM, service accounts, Secrets Manager, KMS, org policies, VPC Service Controls).

•             Design scalable networking (VPCs, subnets, NAT, load balancers, Private Service Connect) and interconnectivity.

•             Establish observability and SRE practices (Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Error Reporting; SLIs/SLOs, alerting, runbooks).

•             Develop data platforms and pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow/Beam, Composer/Airflow, Dataproc; batch and streaming.

•             Automate operations with Cloud Functions/Run and APIs; drive reliability, performance, and cost optimization.

•             Lead incident response and postmortems; mentor engineers and document standards.

 

Generic Managerial Skills, If any

Preferred

•             Multi-project org/folder design and centralized policy controls.

•             FinOps, quota management, and cost governance.

•             Migration experience from on-prem or other clouds.
