Quick Overview
Job Description
Who we are:
Fuse builds innovative communications, networking, and computing solutions that improve the sharing of information, video, text, and voice among operators distributed throughout the airborne, maritime, and ground environments. We are a technology firm creating in-house software, network and hardware solutions that support our noble cause of advancing warfighter capabilities with elegant, user-focused communications, networks, and software systems.
About this role:
We are seeking an Integration Test Engineer to lead the validation, configuration, installation, and end-to-end testing of our proprietary software as well as third-party software applications integrated into our technical stack. In this role, you will build test setups, deploy vendor applications into containerized Linux environments, verify API/data integrations, and systematically troubleshoot configuration or deployment issues.
You will ensure that our release candidates and external applications meet our functional, performance, and security standards before they go live in production.
Some of what you’ll do:
- 3rd Party Applications and Release Candidate Testing: Develop and execute functional, integration, and performance tests on off-the-shelf, SaaS, and proprietary software.
- Environment Provisioning & Setup: Deploy and configure third-party software and containerized microservices and Kubernetes clusters running on Linux (RHEL) environments.
- Integration & API Validation: Test and inspect API payloads, webhooks, middleware connections, and data flows between third-party tools and internal systems using tools like Postman or cURL.
- Configuration & Issue Isolation: Replicate, isolate, and debug technical issues across application layers, system dependencies, container configurations, and OS-level services.
- Test Automation & Scripting: Write and maintain test scripts (Bash, Python) to automate deployment checks, data setup, and routine validation tests.
- Defect Tracking & Vendor Escalation: Document detailed bug reports, environmental dependencies, and logs; work directly with third-party software vendors and product managers to resolve software defects.
Skills and experience you bring:
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance (QA), Integration Testing, Systems Testing, or Technical Support Engineering.
- Operating Systems: Solid command-line and administration skills in Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Containers & Orchestration: Hands-on experience executing deployments, inspecting logs, and running tests within Docker/Podman and Kubernetes environments.
- APIs & Data Protocols: Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, JSON/XML formats, and API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
- Database & Scripting: Proficiency in SQL for verifying backend data changes; ability to write test scripts in Python or Bash.
- Methodology: Knowledge of test case execution, root cause analysis, bug tracking platforms (e.g., Jira), and software verification standards.
- Soft Skills: Solid collaboration and communication with engineering, vendors, managers, and product owners.
- Ability to obtain US Secret clearance
- US Citizen
