Position Overview

The Test Engineer is a key contributor to engine development, responsible for executing the test plan and ensuring successful test outcomes. This role works closely with senior engineers to review the test plan look-ahead and prepare engine and test cell setups, while providing effective test cell and engine troubleshooting to minimize downtime and improve productivity.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

•        Support, direct, and mentor test cell operators running engine tests.

•        Troubleshoot engine and test cell issues to minimize downtime and improve productivity.

•        Coordinate with support function teams (facilities, instrumentation, mechanics, etc.) to resolve issues.

•        Document test cell and engine hardware issues.

•        Review test plan look-ahead with senior engineers and prepare for engine and test cell setup.

•        Attend daily standup meetings with the core team as well as hand-off meetings for continuous operation.

•        Provide updates, participate in troubleshooting discussions, help reach consensus on action plans, and communicate results to the technical team.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

•        Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2–4 years of relevant experience

•        Comparable background in testing, data analysis, or hands-on experience with large diesel engines is also considered.

Technical Skills Required

•        Hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical test setup and data acquisition equipment.

•        Proficiency with Microsoft tools.

•        Experience with data analysis/visualization tools such as Matlab, Canape, or DIAdem.

•        Familiarity with emissions/measurement equipment such as Horiba, AVL, or Allen Bradley.
