Job Description
The IT Project Manager I provides administrative, analytical, and coordination support to an IT Portfolio Office. This entry-level role assists with maintaining project and portfolio information, preparing reports and dashboards, coordinating governance meetings, and ensuring project documentation remains accurate and up to date.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in working with data to support business and portfolio decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, consolidate, and validate project and portfolio data from multiple sources.
- Prepare weekly and monthly portfolio reports and executive dashboards.
- Monitor project financials, including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate project governance meetings and document, track, and follow up on action items.
- Support portfolio planning, project intake, and prioritization activities.
- Perform data validation and maintain accurate information within the portfolio management tool.
- Analyze portfolio data and develop summary views that effectively communicate key insights.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate portfolio performance and key metrics.
- Assist with month-end and quarterly reporting activities.
- Support portfolio governance by preparing reporting materials for leadership meetings.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and reporting efficiency.
- Maintain reporting documentation, report definitions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support project managers and portfolio leadership with ad hoc reporting and analytical requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate s or bachelor s degree in Business, Information Technology, Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience with ServiceNow and GitLab is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Ability to organize, analyze, and present data in a clear and meaningful manner.
