Engineer Lead, Marine | Vancouver, WA, United States | Hybrid | $118,500 - $148,000
We're hiring on behalf of a leading, innovative, and integrated marine maintenance, modernization, fabrication, and services company with a national footprint. This established employer is a full-service prime contractor renowned for its legacy of performance and spirit of innovation, serving critical sectors including defense and maritime.
The Role
- Provide engineering and technical leadership for the design and detail engineering of high-speed aluminum vessels.
- Lead project engineering and design reviews, ensuring adherence to build plans.
- Review and manage 3D model creation, and oversee all design aspects including naval architecture, structural, mechanical, and electrical.
- Manage subcontractor design agents and internal engineering staff to resolve design challenges.
- Develop, manage, and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Mentor and manage staff engineers and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience in boatbuilding/shipyard environments, preferably with high-speed aluminum vessels.
- Strong computer skills and experience with design software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Ship Constructor.
- Knowledge of design spiral, vessel arrangements, structural, electrical, mechanical, and outfit details.
- Familiarity with industry regulations (ABS, USCG, IACS, etc.) and experience with prototype or custom boatbuilding.
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
