Senior Python Developer | Gov Project | 3-Month+ | £475 p.d (Inside IR35) | UK-Based Role
(As this is a specific and time sensitive contract hire, we're only able to consider candidates that meet all of the requirements and can start within 3-4 weeks of receiving an offer)
Role: Senior Python Developer
Day Rate: £475 p.d (Inside IR35)
Client: Dept of UK Government
Location: Remote with max 1 day per month in office (UK-wide, location may change monthly)*
Clearance: Must be eligible for SC
Duration: Initial 3 months with likely extension
Futureheads is partnered with a leading tech consultancy that specialises in delivering complex transformation projects within central government.
They're looking for Python Developer with a strong data background to join a newly established team responsible for building integrations between critical operational systems and centralised data platforms. The role will focus on developing APIs, data pipelines and integration services that enable the effective use of data across multiple digital products and services.
This is an opportunity to work closely with Architects, Data Engineers and Product Teams, helping to establish engineering best practices while delivering scalable, resilient and high-impact solutions.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong Python and SQL development skills.
- Experience designing and building scalable APIs, data pipelines and integration services.
- Experience developing ETL processes and working with a variety of structured and unstructured data sources.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, including testing, version control and CI/CD practices (eg pytest, Git, GitHub Actions).
- Experience deploying solutions on AWS and using Infrastructure as Code to manage cloud environments.
- Ability to design services with resilience, observability and operational support in mind.
- Experience translating stakeholder and user requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Strong data analysis, manipulation and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
*Please note: In person meetings could alternate been London, Leeds and Sheffield. Travel expenses are not covered by the client, so please only apply if you're comfortable funding the occasional travel.
