The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Academy Operations Team as an Academy Secretary.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Academy Administrator and be responsible for coordinating and delivering the Academy fixture programme across all age groups. This will involve liaising with Academy staff, fellow football clubs, and external stakeholders to ensure all fixtures are organised effectively and that matchdays run smoothly.

This role requires flexibility, including evening and weekend work, and is ideally suited to someone with a passion for football administration who enjoys supporting and enhancing the matchday experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate all Academy fixtures across the Academy age groups (U9-U21), ensuring all relevant parties are informed and prepared.

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including the Premier League (PL), Football Association (FA), English Football League (EFL), and opposition clubs regarding fixture scheduling, amendments, and operational requirements.

  • Work closely with the Academy Administrator to organise matchday requirements, including paramedics, match officials, scouts, and media attendance.

  • Monitor and follow up on referee reports, ensuring any outstanding reports or actions are addressed promptly.

  • Maintain accurate fixture, contact, and operational records across the Academy.

  • Provide administrative support to the Academy Operations team to ensure the smooth delivery of Academy activities and matchdays.

  • Assist with evening and weekend matchday operations as required.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Academy staff, external stakeholders, and partner clubs to support the successful delivery of the Academy programme.

Essential

  • The ability to communicate concisely, assertively, and effectively and at all levels of the organisation

  • Ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekends

  • Ability to prioritise between conflicting demands

  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high standards.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within a football, sports, or academy environment.

  • Experience liaising with a range of stakeholders, including clubs, and external partners.
