Job Description

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Highcroft Vets on a full-time/part-time permanent basis.

You'll be joining an established small animal practice based in Hailsham, East Sussex, just 7 miles from the stunning coastline and within easy reach of Eastbourne, Brighton, London, and Gatwick Airport. Surrounded by the rolling Sussex countryside, we offer the perfect blend of rural charm and urban convenience — ideal for lovers of the outdoors who still enjoy access to city life.
At Highcroft, no two days are the same. We’re known for our friendly, professional service and commitment to high-quality care for our clients and their beloved pets. Our supportive team includes experienced vets, talented nurses, and a dedicated client care team, all backed by approachable and proactive leadership.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative, positive work environment where everyone is encouraged to grow.

* Part time applicants considered.

Key Responsibilities

* You will be the friendly face that greets the clients and their pets as they walk through the door and will support the client/patient journey from registration, appointment management, insurance forms etc.
* No previous experience with animals is required but a strong affinity towards them is preferred.
* You will be working alongside two vets, two nurses and two student nurses with the support of a practice manager and clinical director.
* We are blessed with lovely loyal clients and patients and one of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing them through their journey from first appointment through to old age or through their illness.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

* Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner
