Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist within its Marketing & Communications (M&C) Division to support the execution of marketing strategies and initiatives that advance VEDP’s mission and marketing objectives. The M&C Division manages Virginia’s business brand and builds awareness of the Commonwealth’s advantages among key audiences.
The Digital Marketing Specialist plays an important role in supporting VEDP’s digital marketing efforts through social media management and support, website content updates, digital campaign execution, and marketing asset coordination. This position works collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to help deliver marketing programs, maintain digital resources, and support day-to-day marketing operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, creative, and eager to contribute to a dynamic marketing team dedicated to promoting Virginia as a premier place to live, work, and do business.
Responsibilities:Assist with social media content creation and coordinate the scheduling and publishing of content across VEDP platformsAssist in maintaining the social media content calendar and coordinating content with internal teamsDesign and edit graphics, quote cards, and other visual assets for social media and digital marketing initiativesSupport the execution of digital marketing campaigns and initiatives across multiple channelsHelp coordinate and execute webinar registration and email marketing campaigns within HubSpotConduct research and pull analytics from marketing dashboards to support campaign reporting and optimizationHelp update and maintain content across VEDP.org and affiliated websites, including articles, Virginia Economic Review content, success stories, documents, and other web contentPerform routine website updates, including contact information changes, document uploads, and content editsAssist with quality assurance by reviewing website content for accuracy, consistency, and usabilityAssist with maintaining marketing assets within the VEDP intranet and other digital asset management systemsUpload, organize, categorize, and archive marketing collateral, photography, graphics, and other digital resourcesHelp ensure marketing materials remain current by coordinating routine content and asset updatesAssist with maintaining marketing databases and supporting communications reporting effortsSupport day-to-day marketing operations and special projects across the M&C teamCoordinate marketing requests and assist with project timelines and deliverablesCollaborate with colleagues across VEDP to support organizational marketing initiativesSkills:Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team settingStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsBasic understanding of digital marketing principles and best practicesProficiency with Microsoft Office suite applicationsAbility to maintain accuracy and consistency while managing routine tasksExperience:1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, website management, or social media marketing requiredExperience supporting social media content development and publishing requiredExperience updating website content through a content management system (CMS) requiredExperience using marketing automation and email marketing platforms preferredExperience with HubSpot, WordPress, Drupal, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop preferredThis is a hybrid position based in VEDP’s Richmond office and requires employees to work in the office at least three days per week.
