Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine and defence related areas. Due to recent projects won they now require an Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy North East office.

The Role Electrical Design.<br />Specification Writing.<br />Specifying of parts.<br />Costing of Projects.<br />Technical Support to Customers.<br />Inspection and Test / FAT writing.<br />working on Electrical Department Standardisation and Efficiency Initiatives.<br />Undertake the electrical design of work packs or projects with minimal supervision.<br />Delivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets.<br />Ability to estimate, forecast, plan and execute to agreed plans.<br />Provide technical support and guidance for commissioning and installation activities.

The Person Degree or Diploma qualified<br />Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment<br />Experienced in designing:<br />Power distribution systems at both 230V &amp; 440VAC<br />Machine control and instrumentation systems<br />Control Panel design<br />Motor starter or VSD design<br />Experienced in Electrical CAD packages.<br />Experienced in working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organization<br />Eplan Electric P8 experience<br />Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore environment<br />Working knowledge of DNV GL &amp; Lloyds rules<br />Experience of working with Subsea Vehicles including design of High Voltage systems<br />Knowledge &amp; experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)<br />Commissioning &amp; Test experience (advantageous)<br />A high level of competence with IT systems and tools
