Senior Full Stack Engineer, Trading Technology - Selby Jennings

Key Responsibilities

• Develop modern user-facing applications using React and TypeScript, with a strong focus on usability, performance and real-time data visualisation.
• Build backend services, APIs and data-driven applications using Python and modern software engineering practices.
• Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful technical solutions.
• Drive improvements to application performance, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineers across frontend, backend and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews and engineering best practices.

Key Requirements

• Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
• Expertise in React and TypeScript for building complex web applications.
• Strong backend development experience using Python or C++
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns and engineering best practices.
• Experience working with SQL databases and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working closely with business stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within financial services, trading technology, capital markets or investment management.
• Exposure to real-time applications, analytics platforms or data-intensive systems.
• Experience building tools used by trading, risk, portfolio management or investment teams.
• Knowledge of market data, trading workflows, pricing or risk management systems.
