Job Description
Our client is located in Norwalk, CT. They engineer, manufacture and distribute machinery for applying Heat Shrinkable Tamper-Evident Seals and Sleeve Labels worldwide to customers such as Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Nestle to name a few. They also fabricate both Hot/Air & Steam Shrink Tunnels. They offer competitive pay good benefits and a good schedule with half days on Fridays!

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Automation Technician to join our machine assembly team. This position is responsible for the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control systems used on custom packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience assembling industrial control panels, routing and terminating wiring, and interpreting electrical schematics.
Essential Responsibilities
• Assemble, mount, and wire electrical components on custom industrial packaging equipment.
• Install and terminate low-voltage electrical devices including:
o Sensors
o Solenoids
o Pushbuttons
o Indicator lights
o Safety devices
o Motor starters
o Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
o PLC I/O devices
• Assemble and wire industrial control panels.
• Read and accurately interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Route wires neatly through wireways, conduit, cable trays, and machine frames while maintaining professional workmanship.
• Measure, cut, and install EMT and flexible conduit.
• Crimp, terminate, and label electrical connectors using proper tooling and NEC standards.
• Verify wiring accuracy and perform continuity checks prior to machine startup.
• Troubleshoot wiring discrepancies and assist with electrical debugging during machine build and testing.
• Maintain clean and organized wiring practices that meet company standards.
• Work closely with Engineering, Controls Engineers, and Mechanical Assembly teams to complete machine builds.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and assembly efficiency.

Required Qualifications
• Post High School education in an electrical technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial electrical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience wiring industrial machinery or electrical control panels.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
• Proficiency in:
o Crimping electrical terminals
o Ferrules and connectors
o Cable management
o Wire identification
• Ability to work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience wiring servo systems and Ethernet/IP industrial networks.
• Understanding of NFPA 79 and UL 508A electrical panel standards.
• Experience working with 24VDC up to 480VAC.

• Ability to diagnose wiring issues efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform detailed wiring and assembly work.
Pay Rate:
$31-$33 Hourly
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (8.5 hour days)
Friday 6:00 AM 12:00 PM (6 hour day)
Overtime offered when needed!
