Technical Sales Engineer - Industrial Infrastructure & Critical Power

Home-Based UK-Wide Travel Up to 75,000 base (up to 10,000 OTE) + Car Allowance/Company Vehicle + Benefits


The Role

A great opportunity for a Technical Sales Engineer to join the Industrial division of a market-leading electrical safety and power resilience business.

The role will focus on developing new business and securing major project opportunities across critical infrastructure and industrial markets. You will work with end users, OEMs, consultants, contractors and system integrators, influencing specifications and supporting projects from initial concept through to order.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business and build a strong project pipeline
  • Identify and pursue opportunities from concept through to order
  • Develop relationships with end users, consultants, OEMs and system integrators
  • Influence technical specifications and preferred product selection
  • Deliver technical presentations, CPDs and product demonstrations
  • Provide technical application support and help customers solve electrical infrastructure challenges
  • Manage major projects through design, tender and construction stages
  • Work with switchgear manufacturers, MCC builders, control panel manufacturers, UPS manufacturers and EPC contractors

The Candidate
  • HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in technical sales, applications engineering or business development
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution
  • Experience selling into one of the following: Energy & Utilities, Defence & Naval, Marine, Rail, Renewables, Nuclear
  • Experience selling or specifying electrical products, systems or solutions
  • Good understanding of switchgear, MCCs, UPS, protection, control or monitoring systems
  • Experience dealing with consultants, contractors and end users
  • Strong commercial awareness and project sales experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Full UK driving licence
