Business Data Analyst

Job Duties

• Lead end-to-end data mapping across assigned data sources and reporting layers.
• Document business definitions, transformation logic, and data lineage, and coordinate with data owners and stewards to resolve conflicts in definitions.
• Identify workflow issues and propose appropriate solutions.
• Implement data quality rules, track exceptions, and monitor remediation activities to support the quality of ODA data products.
• Maintain metadata and glossary entries in the data catalog.
• Develop standard operating procedures for change control and the data-mapping lifecycle and produce status reports and governance scorecards.
• Assist with the creation of training materials and provide training to individuals on those materials.
• Track and audit purchase order expenditures to identify variances and support operational planning.
• Review and audit financial data as needed to ensure accuracy, inform workflow recommendations, and maintain alignment with budgetary constraints.
• Track and audit financial information as needed.
•  Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business or management, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years of directly applicable experience in business operations and/or data analytics.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
• Solid foundational financial literacy, including the ability to understand budgets, cost drivers, and basic financial reports, and to incorporate financial considerations into operation planning and workflow recommendations.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrated experience with using data visualization tools to create compelling visualizations
• Broad knowledge of business operations best practices and standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment with multiple and fluid demands.
• Ability to maintain effective and professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
