Job Description
Artis HR are supporting an organisation with the appointment of an experienced People Partner on a 9-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.
This is a broad and hands-on people role within a fast-paced, people-focused organisation, offering the opportunity to work across a varied remit including employee relations, recruitment, policy, learning and development, performance and wider people projects.
The successful candidate will be someone who is confident working independently, comfortable managing competing priorities and able to build strong relationships with managers across the business. You will need to be resilient, practical and adaptable, with the ability to bring structure and process while remaining flexible when priorities change.
The Role
Working closely with senior stakeholders and managers, you will act as a trusted People Partner, providing practical, commercially focused advice across the employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers across a broad range of people matters
Leading and managing employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters
Supporting managers with probation reviews, performance management and employee development
Reviewing, updating and embedding HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation
Supporting managers with changes in employment legislation and ensuring new processes are effectively implemented
Leading recruitment activity across the organisation, from identifying resourcing requirements through to successful appointment
Supporting workforce planning, talent management and succession planning
Overseeing learning and development initiatives, including the apprenticeship programme
Supporting organisational change, restructuring and wider HR projects
Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working
Providing coaching and guidance to managers to increase confidence and capability across the organisation
Line managing and supporting an HR Administrator
Analysing HR information and providing insight to support business decisions
Working closely with senior leadership to identify people-related risks, opportunities and areas for improvement
About You
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a hands-on, fast-moving environment and is comfortable operating across a broad HR remit.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience working as a People Partner, HR Business Partner, HR Manager or in a similar senior generalist HR position
Strong and demonstrable employee relations experience, with the confidence to independently manage complex cases
Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and experience updating and implementing HR policies
Experience coaching and advising managers at all levels
Strong recruitment and resourcing experience
Experience supporting change, restructuring, workforce planning or wider people projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A practical, solutions-focused approach to HR
The resilience to manage competing priorities and changing requirements
The ability to work effectively in an environment that can be less structured and where priorities can change quickly
Experience managing or mentoring more junior members of an HR team would be advantageous
This role would suit someone who enjoys being visible, hands-on and close to the business, rather than someone looking for a highly structured or purely strategic HR position.
Contract & Benefits
9-12 month fixed-term contract providing maternity cover
40,000- 45,000, depending on experience
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Bristol-based hybrid working
A broad and varied people role within a high-profile, fast-paced organisation
