We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on knowledge of Siemens NX CAD and SolidWorks to support the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies. The candidate will be responsible for 3D modelling, 2D drafting, assembly design, and preparing detailed engineering drawings in accordance with project requirements and engineering standards.

The ideal candidate should have a sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, manufacturing processes, material selection, and CAD-based product design.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies using Siemens NX CAD and SolidWorks.
• Prepare 2D engineering drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.
• Develop detailed part models, assembly models, and manufacturing drawings.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical sketches, and product specifications.
• Perform design modifications and update existing CAD models based on project requirements.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles wherever required.
• Understand and consider manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and injection moulding during the design process.
• Maintain and update CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with senior design engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve design-related challenges.
• Follow engineering design standards, established procedures, and project timelines.
• Support product development and New Product Development (NPD) activities.

Required Technical Skills

• Understanding of mechanics of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles and material selection.
• Basic understanding of jigs and fixtures.
• Familiarity with plastic component design.
• Knowledge of heavy fabrication and structural design.
• Understanding of New Product Development (NPD) processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

CAD Tools

• Must-Have: Siemens NX CAD, SolidWorks.
• Good-to-Have: CATIA, Creo, HyperMesh, and Teamcenter.
