The manager brings practical facilities expertise to remote site operations, strengthens preventive service delivery, and supports major projects as business needs require.
Partnering closely with local site managers, IT, Security, HR, and business leaders, this individual ensures facilities are safe, well-maintained, responsive to local needs, and aligned with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Global Facilities Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations across geographically dispersed facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and consistent service delivery.
- Establish and implement standards for maintenance, janitorial services, workplace moves, adds and changes (MAC), and operational performance.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs in compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.
- Oversee maintenance of critical building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and access control), working with qualified vendors and local resources to support operational uptime.
Facilities Programs & Project Coordination
- Establish and maintain practical, consistent processes for facilities service delivery, project coordination, and reporting across sites.
- Maintain appropriate scopes, schedules, budgets, and reporting for assigned facilities improvement projects.
- Coordinate with local site managers, Facilities, IT, Security, and other stakeholders on facilities improvements and infrastructure needs.
- Drive a proactive, accountable facilities operating model with consistent service standards and clear escalation processes.
Facilities Projects & Infrastructure Delivery
- Lead smaller facilities improvement projects and routine workplace changes; coordinate with dedicated project management resources on major relocations, expansions, and capital projects, and lead larger projects when needed.
- Ensure all initiatives are delivered within the triple constraint: scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate vendor schedules, work quality, project changes, and delivery across concurrent assigned facilities initiatives.
- Coordinate changes in site and business requirements during facilities project execution.
- Partner with IT and Security on infrastructure deployments including network upgrades, access control, and smart building technologies.
Real Estate Portfolio & Space Management
- Provide local facilities knowledge to support space planning and workplace decisions, including facility conditions, seating capacity, and operational constraints.
- Maintain regular relationships with site leaders to understand local facilities needs and anticipated operational changes.
- Coordinate the facilities aspects of relocations, consolidations, and expansions with real estate and project leads.
Vendor, Procurement & Contract Management
- Lead global procurement efforts, including RFP development, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Manage facilities vendors and integrated facilities management (IFM) service providers through defined SLAs, KPIs, and quality metrics.
- Drive cost optimization through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and performance management.
Risk Management, Compliance & Business Continuity
- Maintain a global risk register for facilities operations and infrastructure projects, identifying and mitigating risks to business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with EHS, Security, and HR on safety programs, emergency preparedness, and incident response.
- Support business continuity planning through proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Financial & Program Management
- Manage assigned facilities operating budgets and support capital budget planning in coordination with Finance and project leads.
- Track facilities service costs, operating expenses, and assigned project financial performance, including forecasts and variances.
- Provide structured reporting on maintenance, janitorial services, vendor performance, facilities KPIs, risks, and spend.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Supervise, coach, and prioritize the work of a small team of facilities administrators and workplace support personnel while coordinating vendors and local site contacts.
- Serve as a key liaison between Facilities, IT, Finance, HR, and executive leadership.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, service-oriented culture built on practical problem-solving, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver high-quality workplace environments that enhance employee experience and productivity.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive, hands-on facilities management experience.
- Demonstrated experience directly managing multi-site facilities operations across multiple geographic regions, including remote sites, with responsibility for maintenance, janitorial services, MAC, vendors, and facilities projects.
- Experience coordinating facilities improvements and collaborating with internal teams and specialized project managers.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, facilities operations, and workplace environments.
- Experience partnering with IT and Security on infrastructure-related initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and practical problem-solving skills; a positive service-oriented approach and ability to supervise a small team.
