The Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the deployment, automation, operation and ongoing sustainment of a PostgreSQL-based platform within a secure enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and maintaining platform environments, developing automated deployment pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and supporting highly available production environments.

You will play a key role throughout the engineering and implementation phase before transitioning into long-term operational support, platform optimisation and continuous improvement activities.

The role will suit a DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience across Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD and containerised infrastructure who is comfortable operating within secure, highly available environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, deploy and maintain secure platform environments.
  • Develop, maintain and optimise CI/CD and GitOps deployment pipelines.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform or equivalent technologies.
  • Develop automation frameworks to improve platform deployment and operational processes.
  • Support Kubernetes and containerised platform environments.
  • Support environment provisioning, configuration management and monitoring activities.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting and platform optimisation.
  • Support highly available PostgreSQL platform environments throughout implementation and sustainment.
  • Produce and maintain operational and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and long-term platform sustainment activities.
What You'll Need
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with virtualisation technologies and containerised environments.
  • Strong experience with GitOps principles and associated tooling.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation.
  • Experience supporting secure, highly available production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, monitoring and incident response capabilities.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience deploying or supporting PostgreSQL platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise database platforms.
  • Experience working within secure government or National Security environments.
  • Experience supporting platforms through implementation into long-term operational sustainment.
  • Experience with monitoring, platform optimisation and continuous improvement activities.
