The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of public accounting and public company experience, with expertise in U.S. GAAP, audit readiness, and leading remote teams.

Primary Job Duties:

Financial Operations & Close Management

  • Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close routines to ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial statements and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules across business units.
  • Partner with FP&A on budget-to-actual variance analyses and operational reporting to deliver actionable insights.
  • Lead financial integration activities for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to ensure seamless onboarding and accounting alignment.
  • Direct or assist with specialized initiatives and projects as needed, demonstrating strong project management capabilities and a focus on enhancing operational processes.

•Technical Accounting, SEC Reporting & Governance

  • Oversee the preparation of supporting accounting data, reconciliations, schedules, and technical input for SEC filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K) prepared by the Financial Reporting team.
  • Maintain and monitor the company’s internal controls framework to ensure full SOX 404 compliance.
  • Serve as a key liaison for external auditors, managing audit schedules, requests, and issue resolution.

•Systems, Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Serve as the functional finance lead for the upcoming ERP transition, assisting with chart of accounts design, data migration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and workflow design.
  • Identify and execute automation opportunities across existing financial software to streamline close cycles and operational routines.

•Treasury Operations

  • Support operational treasury functions, including banking relationships, electronic fund transfers (ACH/wires), account structure administration, and positive pay management.

•Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and foster accountability across a fully remote accounting team.
  • Establish clear performance goals to foster continuous development and cross-functional alignment.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, combining public accounting (Big 4 or large regional preferred) and public company environment experience.
• Background in healthcare, physician practice management, or health-tech environments preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, SOX 404 compliance, internal controls design, and the management of internal and external audit engagements.
• Leadership: Proven track record of hiring, managing, and developing remote accounting professionals.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across executive leadership, IT, HR, and external auditors.
