Neos is Seeking a Sr. Business Analyst for a long-term contract role with our client in Austin, TX.

Description of Services

  • 8+ years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience serving as a liaison between the Business community and Customer IT Teams (i.e., Architecture, Project Delivery, Application Sustain, etc.).
  • Strong experience as a Data Analyst in analyzing raw data and as a Business Analyst in requirements gathering, understanding technology, and project management experience with PMP is a huge plus.

Job Description

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs.
  • Formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
  • Perform business process reengineering and identify new applications of technology to business problems to improve business effectiveness.
  • Utilize industry-standard business process mapping and reengineering methodologies.
  • Prepare solution options, risk identification, and financial analyses such as:
    • Cost/Benefit Analysis
    • Return on Investment (ROI)
    • Buy vs. Build Analysis
  • Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and development or modification requirements for computer programs.

The Business Analyst serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. The core objective is to analyze current legacy systems, identify inefficiencies, and translate business needs into actionable technical solutions that improve operations and meet program goals.

The Business Analyst will work with the program to document requirements that can be shared with the selected vendor to ensure the delivered solution meets business needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Meet with stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and surveys to discover business needs.
  • Document specifications by translating abstract ideas into structured:
    • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
    • Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
  • Create use cases and process maps illustrating current and future state processes.
  • Manage project scope by negotiating requirement trade-offs and managing expectations regarding project timelines and costs.
  • Participate in testing activities by:
    • Creating test cases
    • Supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Ensuring the final product meets original business requirements
  • Serve as the central point of communication between business users, technical teams, and stakeholders.

This role is needed through the completion of the project to ensure the implemented solution meets stakeholder expectations.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 8 years experience analyzing current legacy systems, identifying inefficiencies, and translating business needs into actionable technical solutions that improve operations and achieve program goals.
  • 8 years experience working with program and project teams to document business requirements and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 years experience translating abstract ideas into structured business requirements documentation.
