Job Title: Cyber Software Engineer 3

Location: Chantilly, VA – Onsite


 

Position Overview

We are seeking a Cyber Software Engineer 3 to develop and deliver mission-focused software solutions for a Mission Systems Sector site in Chantilly, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C#, C/C++, .NET, Python, embedded systems, and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

The engineer will work closely with mission partners and technical teams to deliver software solutions, define technical direction, and support the integration of new requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver software solutions that meet mission partner requirements.
• Develop both user-level and developer-level documentation.
• Contribute to the team's technical direction based on operational requirements and technical roadmaps.
• Collaborate with team members to improve development, testing, governance, and stakeholder processes.
• Communicate project status, technical challenges, roadblocks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Prioritize development efforts in collaboration with mission partners.
• Define the complexity, scope, and resources required to integrate new requirements.
• Participate in Agile development and deliver high-quality software solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Polygraph required.
• Clearance must remain active throughout employment.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Strong proficiency in C# and C.
• Experience developing embedded software using C/C++.
• Experience with .NET Framework on Windows.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience working on Agile software development teams.
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent troubleshooting, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of RF and/or satellite/terrestrial communications systems.
• Experience with Zephyr RTOS.
• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Perl.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with Xilinx software.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and work item tracking.
• Experience creating software design documentation using Doxygen or similar tools.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
