Position: SAP Business Object Financial Reporting Consultant

Location: San Antonio, TX Onsite

Type of Employment: 12+ Months Contract

Role Description:

The candidate should be comfortable working in a collaborative banking/data environment, coordinating with multiple technology and business teams, and providing production support when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and support of SAP BusinessObjects financial reporting solutions across enterprise Finance functions.
• Design, develop, and maintain complex Web Intelligence (WebI) reports for executive management, finance leaders, and business stakeholders.
• Build and maintain Universes (UNX/UNV) using Information Design Tool (IDT) to provide a scalable semantic layer for reporting.
• Develop financial and management reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Budget vs. Actual, Forecast, and Variance Analysis.
• Work closely with Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, and Controlling teams to gather and translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
• Integrate SAP BO reporting with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/BW4HANA, SAP HANA, and non-SAP data sources.
• Create executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-service reporting solutions to support strategic decision-making.
• Optimize report performance through query tuning, report redesign, indexing strategies, and efficient Universe modeling.
• Manage report scheduling, publication, bursting, and automated distribution using SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.
• Ensure data accuracy, reconciliation, and consistency between source systems and financial reports.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing activities by delivering critical financial reports within strict deadlines.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide Level 3 support for reporting applications.
• Collaborate with data warehouse and ETL teams to improve data quality and reporting effectiveness.
• Conduct impact assessments during SAP upgrades, migrations, and business transformation initiatives.
• Develop technical specifications, functional design documents, and reporting governance standards.
• Implement and enforce SOX, audit, security, and compliance controls within reporting solutions.
• Lead report migration and deployment activities across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
• Train business users on report functionality, self-service reporting, and analytics capabilities.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership on SAP BusinessObjects best practices.
• Participate in enterprise reporting modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy reporting platforms to SAP BO and HANA-based reporting solutions
