We are working with a leading consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Director specialising in Life Cycle Costing and Whole Life Cycle Costing for buildings within their Project Management & Commercial Management (PMCM) team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a strong understanding of asset management, operational costs and lifecycle planning to help establish and grow a dedicated lifecycle costing capability.

The Role

You will work across whole life and lifecycle costings for buildings, advising clients on value, expenditure and long-term asset costs.

Key areas include:

  • Developing lifecycle and whole life cost models
  • Advising clients on value for money
  • Capital, operational, running and maintenance costs
  • PPM and maintenance strategies
  • Lifecycle options and cost comparisons
  • Producing BREEAM reports
  • Developing standardised models and reporting
  • Supporting asset management and lifecycle strategies

You will work across a range of building sectors including airports, defence, warehouses, offices and energy centres.

A key part of the role will be to build and develop a lifecycle costing team from the ground up. There is currently no established team, so we are looking for someone who is proactive, hands-on and keen to build something of their own. You will have strong support from the Lead QS and Technical Director, with no initial line management responsibility.

  • MRICS / Chartered QS

  • Experience developing lifecycle models
  • Understanding of capital, operational and running costs
  • Experience advising clients on value and expenditure
  • BREEAM reporting experience
  • Strong QS / Cost & Commercial Management background
  • Proactive and hands-on approach

Desirable:

  • FM provider or Asset Management experience
  • QS and Asset Management experience
  • Experience creating lifecycle models and standardised reporting
  • PPM / maintenance cost experience
  • Varied building sector experience
  • PFI handback experience

  • Public sector and/or heavy industry experience

The Opportunity

Join a leading consultancy with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to shape and grow a new lifecycle costing capability, build a team and work on major projects across the UK.

If you don't meet every requirement but have relevant experience, we would still encourage you to apply.
