Network Engineer (Cisco)

Location:  Tulsa, OK
Onsite:  YES
Type:  Full-Time Employee
Schedule:  M-F, 8-5

POSITION SUMMARY

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, administration, security, and ongoing support of the organization’s network and IT infrastructure. Working under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager, this role supports enterprise connectivity, data center and server infrastructure, telecommunications, network security, wireless environments, monitoring systems, and related technologies.

The Network Engineer plays a key role in maintaining reliable, secure, and highly available IT services across all organizational locations. This includes identifying infrastructure issues, implementing improvements, supporting technology upgrades, and helping ensure business-critical systems remain operational.

The responsibilities outlined below represent the primary functions of the position but are not intended to be an exhaustive list.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Infrastructure

  • Administer and support enterprise LAN and WAN environments across multiple locations.
  • Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching infrastructure.
  • Manage network addressing, subnetting, routing, and overall IP architecture.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco WAN routers, including environments utilizing EIGRP, DMVPN, and other applicable routing technologies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain wireless network infrastructure, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and Access Points (APs).
  • Plan and execute network additions, deletions, upgrades, and significant infrastructure modifications.
  • Design and support connectivity provided through multiple transport technologies, including Metro Ethernet, cellular, Internet, and other carrier services.
  • Manage Internet connectivity across multiple providers and support BGP routing configurations.
  • Maintain network infrastructure documentation, diagrams, configurations, and technical specifications.

Network Security

  • Administer and maintain network security technologies including Cisco Firepower and ASA firewalls.
  • Configure and manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and associated network access controls.
  • Maintain network Access Control Lists (ACLs) and other security controls.
  • Administer and support Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) technologies where applicable.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Duo two-factor authentication (2FA) solutions.
  • Assist with the implementation of network security improvements, policies, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Monitor network security and infrastructure environments for potential issues and vulnerabilities.

Voice & Communications

  • Administer and support VoIP phone systems and Cisco Call Manager.
  • Maintain Cisco Unity voicemail and Emergency Responder systems.
  • Support Cisco UCCX Call Center environments.
  • Troubleshoot voice, telecommunications, and network-related communication issues.
  • Ensure voice and communication platforms maintain appropriate levels of availability and performance.

Remote Access & Network Services

  • Configure and maintain remote-access solutions, including Cisco AnyConnect VPN.
  • Support and maintain site-to-site VPN connectivity.
  • Administer core network services such as DNS and DHCP.
  • Support servers, appliances, and related infrastructure components.
  • Assist with infrastructure server and appliance upgrades, replacements, and technology refresh initiatives.

Infrastructure Operations & Support

  • Serve as a technical lead for complex troubleshooting, system backups, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, maintenance, and replacement of IT systems, hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot servers, network appliances, communication systems, and associated technologies.
  • Monitor the IT infrastructure using enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Investigate network performance and availability issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, resiliency, performance, and uptime.
  • Provide after-hours and emergency technical support as part of the required on-call rotation.
  • Assist with infrastructure-related projects from planning and design through implementation and support.
  • Remain current on emerging networking and infrastructure technologies through professional development, technical training, industry publications, seminars, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to resolve technical issues and accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience supporting LAN, WAN, and enterprise network environments.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and professional experience may be considered.
  • Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Cisco switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, and VoIP technologies.
  • Previous experience in a casino or gaming environment is preferred.
  • Must meet applicable age requirements for the position.
  • Must successfully complete the required background screening.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to infrastructure issues outside normal business hours.
  • Ability to travel as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods, potentially up to eight hours per day.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch when performing installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for computer, equipment, and cabling-related tasks.
  • Ability to reach overhead and lift or handle equipment as required.
  • Normal hearing and the ability to communicate effectively verbally.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment weighing approximately 15 pounds or more, as required by the job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is performed primarily in an office, IT infrastructure, and casino environment.
  • Position may involve exposure to elevated noise levels and secondhand smoke depending on work location.
  • May require evening, weekend, holiday, extended, or irregular work hours to support critical infrastructure, maintenance activities, or operational requirements.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
