Job Role of the Field Service Engineer
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer with an electrical bias to join a well-established and growing business. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working independently, travelling to customer sites, and providing first-class service on a variety of automated conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
You will be responsible for carrying out electrical fault finding, servicing, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and installations across customer sites, ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Field Service Engineer
- Proven experience working as a Field Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
- Hands-on experience working on conveyor systems is essential.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience carrying out planned, reactive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Full UK driving licence.
Requirements for the Field Service Engineer
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Experience working with conveyors, automated material handling systems, or production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Excellent fault-finding skills on electrical control systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers.
- Willingness to travel and work independently.
Desirable Requirements for the Field Service Engineer
- Experience working with PLC-controlled conveyor systems.
- Previous field service experience within the UK.
- Mechanical maintenance and repair experience.
- Experience within logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
