We are seeking an exceptional and experienced leader to join our Allied Health leadership team as Head of Social Work and Spiritual Care on a 12-month fixed term basis. Whilst predominantely based at Clayton, a requirement of the role is to work at other Monash Health sites to meet operational needs.
This senior leadership role provides professional and operational leadership for Social Work, Spiritual Care, Welfare and Youth Work services across Monash Health. Reporting to the Chief Allied Health Officer and working closely with the Operations Director Allied Health, you will drive service excellence, workforce innovation, professional governance and strategic development across multiple hospital campuses.
About the RoleAs Head of Social Work and Spiritual Care, you will:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across Social Work and Spiritual Care services.
- Lead professional governance for Social Workers, Spiritual Care, Welfare and Youth Workers across Monash Health.
- Drive workforce planning, service improvement, research and innovation initiatives.
- Partner with key clinical and operational leaders to deliver outstanding patient-centred care.
- Foster a culture of professional excellence, collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to organisation-wide Allied Health leadership as a member of the Allied Health Leadership Committee.
You are a highly respected Social Work leader with extensive experience in complex healthcare environments and a passion for developing people, services and systems.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Extensive post-qualification experience, including senior management and leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in health-based Social Work practice.
- Strong experience leading multidisciplinary teams, service transformation and workforce development.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and change leadership skills.
- Experience driving quality, safety, research and evidence-based practice initiatives.
