Principal AI Architect - Manufacturing & Forestry

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Principal AI Architect to lead enterprise AI strategy across our sustainable manufacturing and forestry operations. You will design scalable, secure AI and ML architectures that optimize mill performance, supply chains, and forest resource management. Partnering with data, IT, and business leaders, you will define the AI roadmap, establish MLOps and governance, and guide end-to-end solution delivery from data ingestion to production deployment. This role blends deep technical leadership with meaningful impact on safety, sustainability, and long-term environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise AI architecture roadmap for manufacturing and forestry operations.
• Design scalable, secure AI and ML platforms and reference architectures.
• Collaborate with data, IT, and business leaders to identify high-impact AI use cases.
• Oversee end-to-end AI solution delivery, from data pipelines to model deployment.
• Establish MLOps, governance, and best practices for model lifecycle management.
• Ensure AI solutions align with safety, sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor engineers, data scientists, and analysts on AI architecture and standards.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies relevant to manufacturing and forestry.
